Terminology Check tool

The Terminology Check tool checks each translation against a glossary of source/target term pairs. For every entry, if the source term occurs in the block's source text, the tool verifies that the required target term occurs in the translation; when it does not, the block is flagged and the missing expectations are recorded on its properties. A target locale is required, and a terms or glossary supplies the term pairs.

The glossary is supplied programmatically rather than as a schema field, so the tool is typically wired up by the host application or a project that binds a terms. The only schema-level option controls whether term matching respects letter case.

Processing notes

  • Operates on translatable blocks; non-translatable structure passes through unchanged.

  • Only entries whose source term is present in the block's source are checked.

Limitations

  • The glossary of term pairs is configured programmatically; it is not exposed as a schema parameter.

  • Matching is substring-based; it does not account for inflection or morphology.

  • Requires a configured target locale and a terms store; blocks without a translation are skipped.
