Reuse what you've translated

Goal: never re-translate a sentence you've already translated. When you ship an update, most text is unchanged; kapi brings back what it recognizes from earlier releases and sends only the new and changed parts forward, marking anything still untranslated so nothing slips out blank. The pass is deterministic, takes seconds and needs no API key. Concepts: Content memory and Terminology; where each store lives: Memory & terms storage.

The Content Memory view is where the project's memory lives:

  1. Bring in past work. Load a content-memory bundle (or, coming from another system, a TMX export) with kapi memory import, or read a checkout's bundle in with kapi store import; the view lists entries and language pairs as they land.
  2. Run the flow. A project flow whose first step is recycle fills every exact match from memory before any translate step runs; Bring up to date applies it across locales, and only the misses go forward.
  3. Watch the reuse grow. Every finished run adds its results to the content memory, so the next release has more to reuse.

The rail imports a content-memory bundle into a content memory, then runs the pipeline against it; open the intermediate files to watch each step feed the next:
