Segment Count tool
The Segment Count tool records how many segments each translatable block contains. The source segment count is always recorded on the block's properties. When a target locale is configured and the block has a translation for it, the number of target segments is recorded as well.
Counting segments — rather than words or characters — measures the granularity of a block after segmentation, which is useful for verifying that source and target segmentation line up and for segment-based scoping.
This tool has no configurable parameters.
Examples
Count segments
The tool takes no parameters; add it to a flow with an empty configuration.
{}Processing notes
Operates on translatable blocks; non-translatable structure passes through unchanged.
Limitations
Target segment counts require a configured target locale and an existing translation for the block.
Counts follow the active segmentation; results depend on how the text was segmented.
