A Word handbook, an Excel workbook and a slide deck, rewritten as the document formats the engine generates.

The engine reads a document into the content model and a writer puts it out again in any document format it generates: HTML, Markdown, DocLang, AsciiDoc and plain text. This lab opens one document every way at once: the model-level tabs stay the same while the output format changes, which is the point. The inputs are KapiMart's Office documents, so the structure that has to survive is real: headings at two levels, lists, a table with a header row, bold text and links, a figure, three worksheets with currency and date formats, and a deck with a table and speaker notes.

  1. A Word handbook to MarkdownThe KapiMart partner handbook: a title, numbered headings at two levels, a list of steps, a fee table with a header row, bold and struck-through text, two links and a figure. Each becomes the Markdown that says the same thing, and the figure keeps its alt text.
  2. The same handbook as HTMLCompare the Rendered pane with the Preview tab: the writer rebuilt the page from the model, and the two read alike. The table has a header row and the links point where the document did.
  3. The same handbook as DocLangDocLang is the engine's own structural XML: every heading carries its level, inline marks are elements, and the table is rows of cells. It is the shape the other writers are reading from.
  4. A workbook to MarkdownThree worksheets become three sections, each a heading with a table. The cells keep the formats the sheet shows: euro amounts, thousands separators, percentages and dates as Excel displays them, not the raw numbers underneath.
  5. The workbook as HTMLThe same three grids as HTML tables, header rows included. Open the Blocks tab: every cell is a block with its address, which is what makes a spreadsheet reviewable cell by cell.
  6. A slide deck to MarkdownEach slide's title is a heading and its text follows. The fee table on the fourth slide is a table with a header row, and the speaker notes sit under the slide they were written for. The layouts and master behind the slides stay in the template.
  7. Markdown to AsciiDocText formats cross too. A Markdown article with a table and a code block, re-expressed as AsciiDoc: the table survives because the model holds it as a table, not as pipes and dashes.
  8. Down to plain textPlain text is the floor: structure and inline formatting have nowhere to go, and the Rendered pane shows what is left of the handbook. Word, Excel and PowerPoint are absent as targets on purpose: those writers put translated text back into the original file rather than generating a new one, which is how a translated document keeps its layout.
